Slow Down, Time

Have you ever just taken a step back, reflected on your life, and wondered where the time went?  It seems as though I am doing that quite a bit lately.

School started again and this time the younger of the two grandkids has started  Pre-K. Thankfully, it’s going well for both of them so far. Each time a new school year begins, I am now reminded of all the school years I started myself as a teacher. It still seems odd that I am no longer in a classroom after almost 40 years of teaching. I have no regrets about retiring though. I am enjoying my full-time devotion to writing and looking forward to my future with that.

My youngest daughter is moving tomorrow. It’s her final lap in her journey of being a clinical psychologist. She has a year of Fellowship in SC. She has moved two summers straight and will again next year to wherever she finds a job once this fellowship is finished.

It seems like just yesterday that both of my daughters were babies. Now they are adults with lives of their own. I am so proud of both of them and pray for them always. I believe that is every hope and prayer of a parent.

Time passes by so quickly. And I don’t know about you, but the older I get the faster it seems to pass. And the older I get the more I am determined to make the most of my life. Life is a precious gift. I realize that more each day. We can live each day being bitter or we can live each day being better. I choose the latter. To be honest, it’s not always easy. My temper rears its ugly head sometimes, but I am trying to tame it as much as I can. Some days I am successful. Some days, not as much as I’d like. I guess I am the definition of a work in progress.

I wish all of you with young children a positive and fruitful school year. And I wish everyone a day filled with blessings.

In a world where there is so much hate, let us all choose to be KIND.red-304570__340

Yes , hate is a strong ugly word that I have used in the past … But as I grew older I realized that hate can actually turn into friendship just by understanding and listening … God bless +

So true. There is plenty of hate in the world but not enough kindness. I choose kindness. It’s better for my soul. Thanks for the feedback.
