I was trying to figure out what to write about today. Should I write about the snow in Houston in November this morning, the earliest on record? Maybe I could write about the two books I’m working on. Then I went on Facebook and saw a post that was even better. It wasn’t written by me, but it conveys the way I feel.
Randy Schrum is someone I follow on Facebook. He is the owner of several businesses and has a FB page called Faith Driven Economics. Randy is a Christian and runs his businesses that way. He offers valuable information to people in business from both a Christian and practical viewpoint. This is what he posted:
Everyone’s got an opinion. Be an example. Listen to listen, rather than listen to respond. Most people respond with opinions and statements that are nothing more than being an arsonist to people’s hopes and dreams. …… If you do speak, speak life.
I have to wonder how many times I have listened to respond rather than listen to truly listen to a friend, a family member, or even a stranger.
Hopes and dreams are what build the future. It’s not for us to destroy.
